@Lars
It's a dangerous discussion because you will naturally ask me to justify my opinion and ask where my knowledge is coming from (like you just did!).
To tell you would be me giving away what I know which I'm not prepared to do. I am still hoping that FMO will correct the CL match calculations back to something similar to what they were in 2020 when FMO could be considered a high quality product worth investing time into. In reality, the match calculations have been botched since autumn 2021 for the CL (and I know the reason why), and its got progressively worse in recent seasons.
I'd be happy if an abnormal result was something like 1 in every 10 games. The underdog should have his day, but it shouldn't be most days.
Ultimately it comes down to what kind of game FMO wants this to be.
I want an intellectual game where picking a team selection and tactics, is more akin to a chess game trying to outwit your opponent (who is also trying to outwit you).
The control of whether you win or lose is in your (and your opponents) hands by the decisions you make based on the lessons you have learned in previous matches, and not a highly capricious game-engine that largely pre-destines the outcome where a manager has little or no chance to change the outcome before a ball is kicked.
The match calculations should be consistent for ALL teams. At the moment the statistics over many seasons show that is not he case, hence a growing level of frustration and friction in the FMO community
FMO is literally robbing the fun and fairness out of the game and causing angst in the community, especially to its longest serving managers, due to this match calculations debacle. They simply have to fix it and I'm sure this is down to how the continental cups are currently configured, or that there is a bug(s) in the system that need fixing.
This is an easy fix, I have no doubt whatsoever that FMO can fix it, the question is... do they want to?
