I just repeated what you wrote...
@Ata
'but you are also fully aware of the implications for other teams and for England's LW position'
That is peer pressure.
OK.
To be fair, I don't think anybody has applied any pressure.
@Ata
Yes it was 3-1, I mentally switched off at 3-0.
FMO loves peer pressure from manager's like you because it forces idiots like me to field my strongest team season after season, making the CL appear credible when its anything but.
Technically I'm not forfeiting the games as
FMO has already forfeited the games for me. That is the cold hard truth.
I tell you what, going 3-0 down after 52 minutes when you're the stronger team definitely falls into the 'unfair result' category.
Remember the context behind tonight's result. I've been the stronger team in 14 of my last 15 CL Matches (the other game being equal) and I've only won twice. Other teams have similar experiences.
To be clear, the implications for other teams and for England falls 100% at FMO's feet, not mine. We've already felt the implications for many season's now, but everybody accepts it because I keep playing my strongest team.
I'm definitely not going to fall into the trap of trying to qualify for the next round when FMO has already determined that I won't. I am determined to have some fun in my remaining CL matches, if I can't have that by having a fair match calculation then I'll have it in my own way whether FMO likes it or not.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it 3-1?
Of course, it's your decison to forfeit the remaining CL games. You are disappointe but you are also fully aware of the implications for other teams and for England's LW position, so you have all the aguments in front of you.
Out of interest, could you explain what defines an unfair result for you?
Bristol started tonight's CL match with
FIVE players in the CL's
Top Elf.
Despite this, Bristol's star players got destroyed 3-0 in their latest CL match despite being the strongest team again.
3-0 !
FMO is clearly incapable of fixing the widely reported problem its got, or even more perversely wants the 'game' to perform like this.
Either way. Bristol has lost patience and is officially withdrawing their best team from the CL for the remainder of the season.
I'm gifting the remaining matches to my opponents. If it knocks other clubs out that are relying on me to take points off the my opposition then that's sadly unfortunate.
If you wish to complain to FMO then please do so, they've been unfairly knocking clubs out of continental competitions for years :)
Hi Phi, of course it is up to you to send whichever team you want. But for me it is sad to see. Bristol was always one of the Top 5 contenders for the CL title. And honestly, a game like yours tonight against the Old Boys is still one of the reasons why I am here.
I suffered from bad results in the qualification round. Now it is the challenge to go for the tile. Sure, I had some great seasons recently, but also suffered from 3 season downswings, where I couldn´t manage to reach the quarter finals.
But anyhow, let´s see what tonight brings.
Just so we're clear and its not a shock to anyone.
If I think Bristol are not getting fair match calculations in the CL again this season, I will 100% be fielding MP teams for the remaining matches.
I made this statement last season and I will be sticking to it.
